Access, security and permissions
Term | Meaning |
Security profile | A configured set of permissions controlling module, transaction, and feature access in FocalPoint Administrator. |
Member | A configured user record in FocalPoint Administrator, set up with view options and permissions. |
Authorization limit | A transaction value ceiling above which a user cannot approve without further authorization. |
MFA / 2FA | Multi-factor / two-factor authentication used at login, sometimes causing configuration mismatches. |
Access Evo | The hosted platform FocalPoint is sometimes accessed through, sharing login/authentication issues with FocalPoint. |
Approvals and workflow
Term | Meaning |
PO / PR | Purchase Order / Purchase Request — documents routed through configured approval workflows. |
Approver | A user configured to approve a transaction at a given approval stage. |
Delegation / Out of Office | Feature that reassigns a user's pending approvals to a delegate while they're away. |
WFF (Workflow Forms Designer) | The tool used to build and configure custom workflow forms, including field validation and permissions. |
Pre/Post-Stage Rules | Rules that run before or after an approval stage to control form or approval behaviour. |
Finance, invoices and expenses
Term | Meaning |
PIR (Purchase Invoice Register) | The register tracking purchase invoices through approval, posting, and processing/locked states in FocalPoint and Dimensions. |
Matching / unmatching | Linking (or unlinking) an invoice to its purchase order/receipt for processing. |
VAT code | The code applied to expense claim lines to determine VAT treatment. |
Supplier code | The identifier assigned to a supplier used when posting expenses or invoices. |
Time, projects and resourcing

TOIL | Time Off In Lieu — an absence adjustment type handled in timesheet corrections. |
Resource code | The identifier mapping a user or resource to project costing and allocation. |
Cost centre | The structure used to categorise and budget project costs. |
Integration

ADM (Access Document Management) | The document management integration FocalPoint connects to for invoice/document attachments; connectivity or credential issues here block document access. |
Solutions database | The underlying database FocalPoint authenticates against for document/ADM access. |
