Error - 'Unable to upgrade. The license.dat does not contain the license for database X' when clicking the "Upgrade Licence" button

Updated over a week ago

Usually this error is caused by a difference in the case of the name of the database which is case sensitive. For example, on the server the database is called 'DATABASE', while the user has logged into it with the name 'database'.
Usually, the name of the database is not case-sensitive, but the licence upgrade process is.

To resolve this error the database name must simply be in the correct case.

  1. Log out of FocalPoint Administrator

  2. Start to login again and on the Logon screen, click More >>

  3. Enter the users User Name, Password, User ID and Data Source

  4. Next to the Database field, click on the lookup (binoculars icon)

  5. Select the required database (the name here will be exactly as it appears on the server)

  6. Click Logon

  7. The "Upgrade Licence..." button should now work
