Error - 'The Cost Centre code entered is either Suspended, Cancelled or Completed...' when submitting a transaction

This error is a result of one of the Cost Centres on the transaction not being set as active.

To check if a cost centre is active through FocalPoint:

  1. Log into FocalPoint web

  2. Click Job Costing

  3. Click Project Management

  4. Find the necessary project, select it and click Edit

  5. On the Cost Centres tab, Select the Cost Centre in question and click Edit

  6. The status will show here, if it does not show as Active use the drop-down to change this and then click Save and Close

  7. If the status shows as Active already then repeat the above steps to check the other Cost Centres on the transaction.

  8. Once all Cost Centres on the transaction are checked and are Active, you should be able to submit without error.

If you have a very large number of cost centres and need to know which ones are causing the issues then Support will need to run some scripts on the database. Therefore please raise a new case and reference the title of this article and please include details of the affected transaction(s).
